Well, this is definitely a rant. Just want to let all of you out there know, yes that means all two of you, that the Wearitproud brand is NOT Streetwear. Sure we’ve tried to place our products at streetwear stores in L.A. But ultimately, that whole streetwear label is not for us, and also what we stand for.

I’m sure there’s tons of labels out there that fit that bill quite nicely already. Let them rock that style. We are definitely trying to come at a different angle and not trying to be so serious about the way we present our style and fashion.

You’re probably asking, “Why the rant?” My reply would be simple; “Gangsta rap made me do it!” - Ice Cube. Naw, but on a serious note, I’m just tired of the hype surrounding that scene. Up til now, I don’t think one person can define what “street” really is. I can tell you though what “street” is not…Wearitproud.

So yea, there’s probably going to be backlash regarding my comments. But, before you jump the gun, please take note all I am saying is that the Wearitproud brand does not fall under the “Street” category. Sure streetwear is saturated. Sure there are alot of brands out there trying to fit that bill. Power to them.

We just want our fans and frenemies to know that we are a brand for people who enjoy style and fashion. Pretty simple right? That’s the way it should be! If it’s a good look, then it’s a good look. There’s no need for a good shirt to be “hyped” before it’s a good shirt. C’mon ppl, think for yourself.
