That’s just sad. First Tibet, then the controversy with dog meat, and now this.
You cannot say they are nitpicking on China when you are the host of the Olympics. That automatically puts you under the spotlight and/or microscope of the world to nitpick your culture, government, etc. I am not saying it’s right. But the scrutiny is expected if you are hosting such a huge event.
I’m sure the Chinese government is working diligently to clean things up. But do you honestly think a culture can pull a 180 within several months. I highly doubt it. Let’s hope that the changes continually persist after the games because after all, we are talking about people’s lives, much bigger then any game or competition.
