Here’s a glimpse at Kobe’s new sneaks. The shoe is set to hit the streets in Europe and the United States in February. It will be released in China on Jan.1, 2009. It will cost you about $120 to get these kicks.

It was Kobe’s idea to create a low-top basketball shoe. He wanted a shoe that is lighter and softer so it can reduce the amount of energy he spends on the court. Supposedly the heavier the shoe, the more energy you waste. So the Kobe IV’s comes in at a weight of 11.6 ounces, which is 20 percent lighter than the average Nike basketball shoe.

Kobe will debut these shoes for the first time in Dec. 19th for a game against Miami Heat.
